
Phillip Alan Hopkins, 74, died January 17, 2024, at Diversicare of Hutchinson. He was born April 16, 1949, in Hutchinson, to Clarence W. and Bertha Floy (Breeden) Hopkins.
Phillip graduated from Buhler High School. He joined the United Sates Army shortly after high school. For several years, he worked as a truck driver for Western Supply Company.
Phillip loved woodworking, fishing, living the farm life, and animals, such as cows and horses. In addition, he was a huge football fan.
In 1969, he married Laurie N. Jordan. She died November 22, 2004.
Phillip is survived by: his sons, Jarod (Anna) Hopkins, David (Julie) Hopkins, and Phillip Hopkins Jr. all of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Breanna Hopkins, Kaitlyn Hopkins, Cheyenne Hopkins, and Jack Hopkins all of Hutchinson.
He is preceded in death by his wife; parents; and brother, Gary Hopkins.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Military Honors will be conducted by the Fort Riley Honor Guard.
Friends may sign his memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Family will be present to receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at Elliott Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
