
CONCORDIA, Kan. — Mya Williams was held to single digits for just the third time in her career as No. 4 Hutchinson got behind early and never fully recovered on the road at Cloud County.
Maimouna Sissoko scored easy buckets in the paint all afternoon and finished with 22 points. She hit 10 of 19 shots from the floor and finished with 10 reobunds.
Alize Ruiz added 20 points while Te Araroa Sopoaga put in 15.
The Thunderbirds (6-1, 2-0) shot 45.8% and held the Blue Dragons (7-1, 2-1) to 37.7% overall, and just 19% (4 of 21) from distance.
Hutchinson managed just eight points in the first quarter of play and fell behind 14 in the second quarter.
The Dragons pulled within 10 by the break and got as close as eight in the third quarter before the Thunderbirds shot out to a 15-point lead, Hutchinson's largest deficit of the season.
In the fourth, the Dragons pulled as close as seven before Williams and Journey Armstead fouled out.
Williams finished with just nine on 3 of 10 shooting.
Armstead scored 14 but missed all five of her three-point attempts and went 2 of 8 from the free-throw line.
The Dragons were led in scoring by Monae Duffy, who had 15.

Cloud County's three key players scored 57 of the team's total 75. No other players scored in double digits for the T-Birds.
