Jeanette Hallman, 92, died August 20, 2024, at Legend Senior Living, Hutchinson. She was one of nine children born to Clarence and Selma (Cook) Pohlman on August 19, 1932, in Ellinwood.
Jeanette grew up on a dairy farm in Barton County, graduating from Ellinwood High School in 1950, and later, Adela Hale Business College, Hutchinson. She worked at People’s State Bank in Ellinwood before moving to Hutchinson, and was a homemaker. From her infectious laugh, positive spirit, and welcoming nature, Jeanette was an example of selfless unconditional love, compassion, and integrity. No matter how challenging the task, Jeanette was up to the challenge of gifting those around her with her servant’s heart and caregiving nature. Jeanette was a dedicated volunteer at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center and her church, First Presbyterian Church, Hutchinson. Above all, family came first. Jeanette was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandma, sister, and aunt.
On June 24, 1956, she married Victor “Vic” Hugo Hallman, in Ellinwood. He died November 14, 2000, after they shared 44 years of marriage.
Jeanette is survived by: son, Brian Hallman (Rhonda) of Flower Mound, TX; daughter, Terri McQueen (Mike) of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Samantha Koenig (Matt), Brittany Hallman, Christian Hallman (Sarah), Max McQueen, and Lillie McQueen; great-grandsons, Camden and Noah Koenig, with great-grandson Hallman arriving in October; sisters, Betty Thomas of McPherson and Marlene Wornkey of St. John; brother, Darrell Pohlman of Lee’s Summit, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
