HUTCHINSON, Kan. — HutchCC Athletic Director Josh Gooch wants to balance keeping student-athletes safe and allowing fans to watch them in person, with that in mind only the red and yellow sections of the Sports Arena will be used for home events.

"The red section is 2237 and the yellow is 1063," Gooch said. "We are not using the lower section for fans, so our number is based off of 3300. 25% of that is 825. We'll block off every other row."

A mask is required.

"If you're not going to wear a mask, there's no reason to come," Gooch said. "Do what the protocols say. Right now, the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference presidents, their mandate and the protocols say mask. If I go to Dillons and they say I've got to wear a mask to go into Dillons, I'm going to wear a mask. I know people have varying opinions. I'm not here to debate that. I'm trying again to make every decision revolve around safety."

You can bring a bottle of water if you want, with a lid, but no other food or drink will be allowed.

"Anybody that contributes to the athletic endowment, either through our athletic Blue Dragon clubs, different levels that we have or our Club 1928 which, all the money goes into the endowment, you'll be allowed to purchase tickets in advance."

After those purchases have been made, at 1 p.m. on a game day, the college will announce how many tickets are left and they will go on sale one hour before the first game.
