KIOWA AND PRATT COUNTY — Two resurfacing projects on U.S. 54/400 between Greensburg and Pratt will start soon in Kiowa and Pratt counties.
One of the Kansas Department of Transportation projects – a milling and hot-mix-asphalt overlay -- will be on U.S. 54/400 from the east city limits of Greensburg to the Kiowa/Pratt county line. The length is almost 14 miles.

The other project – an ultra-thin bonded asphalt surface -- will be on U.S. 54/400 from the Kiowa/Pratt county line to the west city limits of Pratt. The length is almost 13 miles.

The project in Kiowa County is expected to begin around June 10 and be completed around July 1.
During the work in Kiowa County, traffic will be controlled by flaggers and a pilot car, and motorists should be prepared to stop and expect delays of up to 15 minutes.

Venture Corp., of Great Bend, is the primary contractor for the $3,272,568 project in Kiowa County and the $2,578,918 project in Pratt County.
