
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Smallville Festival kicks off its three day run as a part of Third Thursday.
Events kick off at 5:30 p.m. at the Chester I Lewis Plaza with the reading of a proclamation and a Sculpture Walk showcase at 6:30.
Activities at DCI Park include live music, food trucks and the super heroes costume contest starting at 5:30. Slack line demonstrations and activities start at 6 p.m. and costume contest winners will be announced at 6:30.
All of the traditional Third Thursday activities will be available. After a day off Friday, a full slate of activities are set for Saturday including the Smallville 5K and Super Hero 1 mile runs. Registration begins at 7 a.m. with the 1-mile run at 8 a.m. and the 5K to follow at 8:30. The Kiwanis breakfast starts at 7;30 at DCI Park.
The Smallville ComicCon will run from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday. A complete list of activities can be found on hutchrec.com.
