Carol Jean Razo |1944-2022|

Carol Jean Razo, 78, died unexpectedly December 24, 2022, at her home.  She was born April 21, 1944, in Hutchinson, to Cyrus Sylvester and Alline Carolyn (Guyette) Chadwick.

Carol graduated from Hutchinson High School.  She worked over 30 years as a para-educator for Hutchinson USD 308 at Avenue A, Lincoln, Faris, and Graber Elementary Schools.  Carol skillfully touched the lives of ALL the children she came in contact with through her smile, grin, positive attitude, kindness, compassion, and love.  In addition, she enjoyed playing bingo and going to casinos.  Above all, Carol was a doting wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She loved her family unconditionally, and looked forward to them stopping by her house for a few minutes, an hour, or the entire day.  Carol was a member of the former Southwest Baptist Church, Hutchinson, where she taught children’s Sunday school.

On September 9, 1961, she married John Razo, Jr., in Hutchinson.  They shared almost 52 years of marriage before his death on May 13, 2013.

Carol is survived by:  son, Todd Razo; daughter, Kristene Peterson (Bruce), all of Hutchinson; brother, Hubert Chadwick (Gloria) of South Hutchinson; grandchildren, Kalisha, Megan, Chenille, Giovantai, and Anastacia; and great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Amara, Ahyeli, and Sofia.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Shirley Engweiler (Gary).

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 6, 2023, at Elliott Chapel.  Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson.  Friends may call from 9:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2023, and Thursday, January 5, 2023, with the family present Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
