
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The end-of-the-year quarterly earnings parade kicks off on Thursday when Union Pacific releases its fourth quarter report before the opening bell.
The nation’s largest railroad continued to rebound from a sluggish economy in the third quarter of 2021 with net income of $2.57 per share, compared with $2.01 per share in 2020.
Operating revenue totaled $5.6 billion, an increase of 13%.
UP operates about 25 trains per day through Reno County and just finished up a major siding extension project at Whiteside. The railroad has the fourth-highest valuation in the county.
