HUTCHINSON, Kan. — After losing in a very close vote in the Aug. 2 primary election, Cris Corey, candidate for the Reno County District 1 Commission seat, is running a write-in campaign for the November general election.

The Republican who lost in the primary to Randall Parks hopes that residents will write his name on the ballot Nov. 8.

“I would like to start out by thanking all the people who supported and assisted in my campaign for County Commissioner. It truly has meant the world to me to see so many people willing to eagerly lend a hand, contribute funds and spread the good word of our positive campaign and vision for Reno County. Though we fell short in the primary by the narrowest of margins, it was an awesome and inspiring experience that I will never forget. Since then, I have been approached by numerous individuals in the county,” Corey said. “They are worried that the best interests of Reno County and its people are not going to be served by my opponent. I wholeheartedly agree! So, at the urging and insistence of so many concerned Reno Countians I would like to announce my write-in campaign.”

Corey currently serves as President of Rise Up Reno, Vice President of the Boys & Girls Club, and as a board member and volunteer with Salthawk Community Support.
