HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson Police Department Detective Jessica Kelly has been awarded the National 2021 Child Advocacy Partner of the Year award,  which was only given to four people or organizations in the United States.

Detective Kelly was awarded as an individual for Child Advocacy Partner of the Year for her work with abused children in Hutchinson. HPD says Kelly regularly sacrifices her own time to go out of her way to provide any support needed to pursue justice for children, making sure each of them know she supports them no matter what.

The Child Advocacy Partner of the Year award specifically celebrates MDT (Multidisciplinary Team) members who work alongside child advocacy centers. Nominees may include individuals or organizations working in child protection services, law enforcement, prosecution, medical, mental health, or another MDT member. The goal is to recognize a child advocacy center partner who has excelled in advancing justice and healing for children.
