Christopher Shawn Lucia, 56, passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, in Hutchinson, KS. Chris was born December 21, 1966 in Hutchinson, KS, the son of Michael Lucia and Barbara (Fields) Crossman.
Chris enlisted in the United States Army in 1987 and was honorably discharged in 1992. On June 20, 2009, he married Mary Pennel in Hutchinson. Chris worked as a parts distributor for Johnson Controls. Chris was a simple man. He was an artist, and enjoyed gardening, the outdoors and most of all his grandchildren.
Chris is survived by his father, Michael Lucia; wife, Mary Lucia; two daughters, Tiffanie (Duncan) Duncan and Renea (Doug) Anderson; one son, James (Hannah) McBride; one brother, Aaron (Melinda) Lucia; four sisters, Ame Leatherbury, Stephanie Lucia, Michaela (Jodi Bugg) Beamer, and Cora (Eddie) Gibson; seven grandchildren, Zane Clune, Avery Kellogg, Nova Laughlin, Luke, Jake, Toby and Matthew Anderson; one great grandson, Hayden Kellogg, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara; a sister, Heather Coen; a grandson, Zacheriah Anderson and a nephew, Cory Leatherbury.
A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 15, 2023 at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, with Pastor Steve Hodgson officiating. Friends may sign his book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday through Friday at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel. Memorial Contributions are suggested to Christopher Lucia Memorial Fund and can be sent in care of the funeral home.
