
Lester “Les” Lavon Troyer, 83, died May 4, 2023, at his home in Yoder. He was born August 26, 1939, in Hutchinson, to Oliver and Mary (Yutzy) Troyer.
Les worked for Showalter Oil, eventually owning it for many years and later retired from USD 312 where he did school bus maintenance. He was a member of Yoder Mennonite Church for many years and recently has attended Journey Mennonite in South Hutchinson. Les’ greatest joy and favorite past time was being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. There are many wonderful memories between all of them and he will be dearly missed.
On October 3, 1958, he married Judy Headings, in Yoder. They shared 64 years of marriage.
Les is survived by: wife, Judy, Yoder; son, Tony (Terri), Haven; daughters, Janell, Hutchinson and Carma, Yoder; grandchildren, Jennifer (Dustin), Stephanie (Brian), Matthew (Jessica); great grandchildren, Hunter (Matty), Maddix, Ella, Kara, Jameson, Logan, and Memphis; and special friend, Diane.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Emma, Paul, and Leroy.
A family graveside will be held in Yoder Cemetery. Friends may call from 12 to 8 pm Sunday, May 7, 2023, with family present from 5 to 7 pm at Elliott Mortuary.
