HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Fire Department was kept busy with grass fire calls over the weekend.
On Saturday, Batallion 1 and Brush 71 were requested to western Reno County on a task force deployment to help with a large out of control fire.
Saturday evening, Hutchinson firefighters responded to East 43rd for a controlled burn that got out of hand and burnt into some trees. On Sunday, crews were called out to East 43rd again for a controlled burn that flared up from Saturday.
Hutchinson Fire would like to remind the public that we are not out of fire season yet. There is still a need for more moisture. Please monitor controlled burns for several days after completion.
