HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Superintendent Dawn Johnson and Assistant Superintendent Shelia Berridge surprised two Hutchinson USD 308 teachers with a 2025 Kansas Teacher of the year nomination this morning.
The elementary nominee is Leslie Specht who teaches third grade at Lincoln McCandless Elementary.
The high school nominee is Whitney Aves who teaches Culinary Arts at Hutchinson High School.
The announcement was made on the district's Facebook page this morning. Both educators will have the opportunity to compete at the state level.
