LIBERAL, Kan. — Seward stayed with Hutchinson Saturday night as long as possible by trying to slow down the game.

The Saints opted to use much of the shot clock and limited its own three-point looks to prevent the Dragons from getting out on fast breaks off long rebounds.

The Saints were coming off a 20.7% three-point shooting night at Barton and took only four shots from distance in the first half.

The Dragons took only a four-point advantage into the locker room after leading by as many as eight.

Angelo Stuart continued his hot shooting by draining 5 of 7 three-point attempts in the first half.

Seward got a boost from Harvin Ibarguen, who finished with 19 points and nine rebounds. The 6-9 forward was coming off an 0-4 shooting night at Barton where he finished with one point.

Turnovers and foul trouble allowed Seward to stay in the game until Hutchinson slowly pulled away with five minutes left.

The Saints finally had to launch threes late and finished 0 of 7 in the second half (1 of 11 for the game).

Hutchinson (16-1, 10-1) made 10 threes for the second-straight contest. Stuart matched a career-high with six made triples.

FINAL: Hutchinson 81 Seward 66

Stuart finished with 23 points while Cecil Lee added 12.

Hutchinson turned the ball over 18 times, but only had seven in the second half.

Seward (7-9, 4-6) committed 23 turnovers.

Kobe Campbell scored 15 points off the bench for the Dragons.
