TOPEKA, Kan. — The Kansas Department of Transportation announced the approved bids for state highway construction and maintenance projects on June 7. Multiple projects are in District Five South Central Kansas, like Reno County.
The letting took place May 24 in Topeka. Some of the bids may include multiple projects that have been bundled based on proximity and type of work.
District Five projects include:
The K‑61 bridge In Reno County over Medora Road, located one mile north of South Dean Road, will be subject to milling and overlay for 0.1 mile. The contractor is APAC-Kansas Inc. Shears Division in Hutchinson for the amount $173,283.
U.S. 166 in Cowley County from the U.S. 166/U.S. 77 junction east to the Cowley/Chautauqua county line. It will be subject to pavement marking for 28.4 miles. The contractor is Cillessen and Sons Inc. in Kechi for the amount of $396,993.11.
The I‑135 bridge in Harvey County, located one mile north of the K‑196/I‑135 junction, will undergo bridge repair. The contractor is Wildcat Construction Co. Inc. & Subsidiaries in Wichita for the amount of $94,432.25.
The U.S. 160 bridge in Sumner County over Hargis Creek, located 0.3 mile east of the east U.S. 81 junction, will undergo bridge replacement. The contractor is Dondlinger & Sons Construction Co. Inc. in Wichita for the amount of $3,564,404.00.
