STERLING, Kan. — The Kansas Department of Transportation has announced another road closing connected to the ongoing K-14 realignment project in Rice County. Starting Monday, the part of 17th Road northeast of Sterling between Avenue U and Avenue V will close for about a year.

The closure will allow for construction of a bridge on the new realignment. When the closed section of 17th reopens in about a year, the road will cross the new alignment on an overpass.

The Kansas Department of Transportation realignment project started this spring. The project is expected to be completed by June 16, 2023.
