NICKERSON, Kan.— When the City of Nickerson decided not to repair its weather warning system they began to push city residents to subscribe to the county’s Everbridge warning system.
The county system uses personal devices to issue weather warnings. City Clerk April Beshears says that they sent out a test message throughout the system during the simulated tornado drill last week. The test went to 256 subscribers. Beshears says the city also took in new subscribers following the test.
The Everbridge system is available to all county residents and applications for the system can be done online at renogov.org.
