HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Several local car owners entered their cars in the 2023 Downtown Hutch Rod Run. Terry Brigman of Hutchinson brought his 1959 Prowler Orange Chevrolet Biscayne. He sold a Chevrolet Corvette to acquire the Biscayne.
Brigman said he bought the car out of North Carolina and had it shipped by truck. The car features airbrush logos, a 700R4 overdrive transmission and a 409 motor with 300 horsepower.
"It was all completely re-done," Brigman said. "It had a few problems. I worked on it after I got it otherwise it's a perfect restoration and a lot of body work. Paint was done in California. 409 motor which is unusual for that year. Beautiful car. Beautiful inside and out."
Brigman said he enjoyed seeing old friends at the rod run.
"I usually come to some of the car shows," Brigman said. "I like shorter shows. The last four or five hours but I've seen a lot of people down here that I see once a year down here or something like that."
The body and paint work of Brigman's car was specifically done by Best of Show Customs in Escondido, California. The airbrush was done by Jon Peters, and the upholstery was restored by North Country Upholstery.
Brigman currently has the Biscayne up for sale as well for $59,000. He said he trades in a car every few years.
