HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Reno County Health Department announced Wednesday some changes to the way they update the public on COVID-19.
The dashboard will now be updated weekly, instead of daily, as positive case numbers remain low. As of June 23, there were 11 active cases in the county. The dashboard will be updated on Thursdays until the end of the year and will reflect current KDHE recommendations.
The State’s disaster declaration ended on June 15, and Reno County’s is set to expire on June 30. If positive cases, hospitalizations, or variants increase in the county, updated recommendations and information will be distributed as needed.
The health department is still urging those age 12 and over to get vaccinated. For those who are not fully vaccinated, mask wearing and social distancing in some outdoor settings and in most indoor settings is still recommended.
The health department is still offering free walk-in COVID-19 vaccinations during their normal operating hours.
