Hutchinson, Kan. – Hutch Rec is partnering with Kansas CPR for a specialized class for youth babysitters on March 14.
“This is just a partner, we offered it in the fall, we’re offering it in the spring, and I imagine we’ll offer it again in the fall depending on how well it’s received,” Loribeth Reynolds, Marketing Manager for Hutch Rec, said.
The two-hour and hands-on class provides information and training that youth need to become successful, responsible, and prepared babysitters.
The class has proved to be a thriving program.
“We’ve had really good interest and enrollment, so that’s why we put it out again,” Reynolds said. “Of course with the community in need of child care, we’re trying to promote that sort of profession to younger people to show them a career path in child care.”
The class will be for boys and girls, 10 to 18, and there is a $60 participation fee.
The instructor will focus on CPR for infants, children, and adults, as well as AED and basic first aid skills.
Students will receive a certificate upon completion.
Additionally, snacks and prizes will be provided.
The class will run from 10 a.m. to noon.
