Frances Nadine (George) Nunnenkamp went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 28, 2023. She was a retired registered nurse and homemaker. Her passion was gardening. After her kids were raised.  She worked at Nice’s Greenhouse on 53rd Street growing and pruning plants.

Nadine, as she was known her friends and family, was born in Moundville, Alabama on July 8, 1935. Her parents were Ellis Roy George and Dena Opal (Lucky) George. She grew up with two brothers and two sisters.

She was introduced to her future husband, Stanley Hugh Nunnenkamp who was in U.S. Army stationed in Huntsville. After a long-distance courtship by letter, they were married in Moundville on September 11, 1955. Nadine studied to become a nurse, initially in Alabama. After her husband was discharged from the Army in 1955, she finished her degree at Wesley Medical Center. She retired from nursing to raise their two children, Sheri and Steven. Besides gardening, Nadine loved being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Nadine is proceeded in death by her husband, Stan, their son Steven, her parents, and both sisters and brothers.

She is survived by her daughter Sheri (Brian) Schoenthaler, five grandchildren, Brandon Schoenthaler, Park City, Kan., Brenton Schoenthaler (Tara) of Overland Park, Kan., Braden Schoenthaler (Michaela) of Derby, Kan., Bryson Schoenthaler (Heather) of Wichita, Kan., and Brittni (Dalton) Rodriguez of Park City, Kan., and nine great grandchildren, Brynlee Schoenthaler, Everett Schoenthaler, Skylar Schoenthaler, Ezra Schoenthaler, Liam Rodriguez, Jameson Schoenthaler, Benjamin and Rosalie Schoenthaler, and Lux Rodriguez.

A Celebration of Life service for the immediate family will be held later.
