Jim Eugene Hutchison, 68, went home to be with the Lord on November 13, 2025. He was born February 5, 1957, in Dodge City, to Robert and Patsy (Wasson) Hutchison.
Jim graduated from Gateway High School, Aurora, CO, in 1975. In his younger years he worked on a farm in Montezuma and retired as a mechanical assembler from Siemens Gamesa. Jim was an avid fisherman and found great joy in camping, where he could relax and share time with his family. One of his greatest pleasures was woodworking; He loved spending time in his workshop, creating meaningful pieces that he lovingly shared with his family. In his later years, he found much pleasure in gardening. Jim attended CrossPoint Church, Hutchinson.
On July 15, 1989, he married Sondra Strassburg, in Lewis.
Jim is survived by: his wife of 36 years, Sondra Hutchison; sons, Nicholas (Christine) Hutchison; Nathan (Makinna) Hutchison; granddaughter, RayJean Hutchison; step-granddaughters; Destiny (Andrew) Repp, Cassidy (Ethan) Bonnett, mother, Patsy Hutchison, all of Hutchinson; brother, Randy (Debie) Hutchison of Centennial, CO; mother-in-law, Shirley Strassburg of Lewis; sisters-in-law, Julie (Tom) Vansickle of Lewis and Karen (Richard) Fairchild of Larned; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Hutchison and father-in-law, Bruce Strassburg.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at CrossPoint Church, 1410 E. 30th, Hutchinson. Burial will follow in Eastside Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
