WICHITA, Kan. — Wichita State Athletic Director Kevin Saal announced on Tuesday morning that the university has parted ways with interim head baseball, coach Loren Hibbs.
The Shockers finished the 2023 season with a 30-25 record overall and 13-10 in American Athletic Conference play.
Hibbs was named the AAC Coach of the Year following the Shockers' regular season in which WSU finished third place in the conference. He became the first Wichita State coach to be named conference Coach of the Year since the legendary Gene Stephenson won the award in 1998.
