Police arrest suspect 6 days after deadly Kansas shoooting

SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement invesstigating a deadly shooting  in Topeka announced an arrest.

Just after 12:05 a.m. August 23, police responded to reports of a shooting in the 2300 block of SE 23rd Street in Topeka, according to Topeka Police LT Kerry Connell.

First responders found an unresponsive subject, later idenfitied as Joshua A. Stockman, 18, Topeka., who was pronounced deceased at the scene.

On Saturday, police reported the arrest of 23-year-old Erwin Tyrone Lockridge Jr., 23, Topeka. He was transported to the Shawnee County Department of Corrections and is being held on requested charges of murder in the first degree, intentional and premeditated, Criminal discharge of a firearm, recklessly at an occupied dwelling
