NEWTON, Kan. — According to Newton City Manager Kelly McElroy, Choose Newton Main Street launched a campaign on Friday to raise funds for projects to enhance the experience in the historic downtown.
The first goals in the ongoing campaign will be replacements for the Christmas decorations and a speaker system for at least three blocks of downtown.
The goal is $100,000 in the first phase of this capital campaign, so that some of these improvements can be in place by the end of 2024, but the campaign will be an ongoing one to continue the beautification of Newton's Main Street.
Contributions may be made through the Central Kansas Community Foundation.
