HUTCHINSON, Kan. — According to a social media post earlier this week, Reno Valley Middle School in Nickerson-South Hutchinson USD 309 announced that it has received a grant from Pathways to a Healthy Kansas, a Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas initiative, for $10,000 to use for the tobacco education program.
The grant money will be used to support the student-led RESIST team, bring in a speaker about addiction, and provide education curriculum for RVMS students. The initiative is administered by the Reno County Health Department, who has been very supportive of efforts to fight tobacco use at RVMS.
