Richard L. Becker, 79, of Halstead, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at Newton Presbyterian Manor. He was born on August 24, 1943 in Newton, the son of Eben and Lena (Koehn) Becker.
Richard attended Harmony School in Halstead. He was a grain farmer.
Richard was united in marriage to Luane Joy Dirks on April 14, 1963. She preceded him in death on November 6, 1994. He later married Debbra Koehn on February 19, 1995. She survives of the home.
Richard was a member of the Grace Church of God in Christ, Mennonite in Halstead.
He is survived by his wife, Debbra Becker of the home; seven children, Diane (Darvin) Koehn of Halstead, Merna King of Jamesport, MO, Myron (Ginalee) Becker of Burrton, Gary (Janelle) Becker of Halstead, Susanne (Justin) Becker of Sedgwick, Weldon (Stephanie) Becker of Cantril, IA, and Jonell (Travis) Harms of Baker City, OR; 22 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Luane; son-in-law, Sean King; brother, Orville Becker; and two sisters, Kathleen and Martha Becker.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Grace Mennonite Church, Halstead. Burial will follow at Halstead Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m., Friday, June 30 at Moundridge Funeral Home, with family greeting friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the church.
