HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The No. 25 Dragons (22-4, 16-4) used an early barrage of three-pointers to take a 31-12 advantage over Colby (8-16, 5-14).
The sharp shooting came on a night that every three meant more money for a great cause.
The 10th annual Pink Out featured Threes for a Cure. Fans could pledge any dollar amount per made triple from the men's and women's games combined.
Mya Williams got off to an incredibly hot start with 5 of 5 made threes. She finished the first half 6 of 6.
The Dragons led 45-32 at halftime thanks to 24 points from Williams and nine threes.
Colby shot 50% in the third quarter to make things interesting.
The Trojans slowly chipped away at a Dragon 23-point lead established in the first quarter to pull within four late in the third quarter.
Williams followed up her 24-point first half with another 13 to finish with a career-high 37 on 12 of 16 shooting. She hit 7 of 8 triples and snagged eight boards.
Kalyn Ervin added 16 points while Tor'e Alford had 13 with seven assists.
Mel Kailahi left the game with an injury after playing only seven minutes.
Kali Howard scored eight points and grabbed nine rebounds off the bench.
De'jah Vigilante scored 22 points for Colby on 9 of 11 shooting.
Hutchinson was outscored in the third quarter, but never trailed in a contest that was tied for just 36 seconds.

The women finished with 12 threes (52.2%). The men added another 10. HutchCC presented the Cancer Council of Reno County a check for $10,010 during the men's halftime. But an estimate after the men's game had that total around $11,320. Fans also donated money for special Pink Out shirts.
The athletic office will get a final total once all pledge money is received from Threes for a Cure.
