HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Reno County Department of Aging is offering free, unbiased information to help residents review their Medicare coverage during open enrollment, which begins Thursday, Oct. 15.

The enrollment period continues through Dec. 7 and includes the opportunity to review or change Part D prescription drug coverage for next year.

The department encourages residents to examine their coverage because plan costs and benefits can change annually. Staff can help residents understand their options and navigate potentially confusing mailings and messages.

Residents are also reminded to protect their Medicare numbers, open their mail and read important notices carefully.
