HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The USD 308 Board of Education heard from former NFL player and Rose Bowl Champion, Keith Davis, during its regular meeting Monday.
During his presentation, Davis spoke about the importance of education in students’ lives, and how his former teachers impacted his success on and off the football field. He encouraged the Board of Education to “fill the gap,” and be a point of inspiration for the district as they plan for the coming school year.
Also Monday night the board approved the budget and set a date of September 13th at 5:45 p.m. for the revenue neutral rate and 5:50 p.m. for the public hearing on the budget. And the board approved an updated list of policies from the Kansas Association of School Boards.
Finally, the board approved renovations to the stage at Allen Magnet School for just over $25,000. The area will be used for a makerspace lab for 5th and 6th graders.
