HUTCHINSON, Kan. — USD 308 Superintendent Dr. Dawn Johnson told the Board of Education Monday night that they moved the next meeting of the steering committee up to March 6, which is a Monday.
"It's spring break on the 13th, so I knew a lot of parents would be out of town, so we moved it up one," Johnson said. "During that meeting, there will be a tour of Lincoln. There's about 50 people on the committee, so we don't think they can all fit in at once, so we're going to have a sign up sheet for them to find a time to do that."
The next meeting of the steering committee is hoping to look at the overall themes.
"The big focus of that meeting, I think, is to get back a little bit," Johnson said. "Some people have been talking about making sure that they understand our why. We really just kind of jumped into it last time with introductions. We now have an opportunity to set up an executive committee as well, with some groups from that. Some of the board will meet with Schaefer Johnson Cox Frey before the Monday of every meeting."
The hope is to get goals set for each meeting so the larger group can be efficient with their time and accomplish forward movement throughout the year.
