Larson Woelk, 93, passed away on March 31, 2024, in Overland Park, Kansas.

Larson was born on May 25, 1930 in Newton, KS, to Alvin and Linda (Galle) Woelk.

Larson graduated from Walton High School in 1948. He was the State Champion in High Jump, Long Jump and 100 yard dash in that division. He entered the Army in July 1951 serving as a airplane mechanic in Germany.

Larson married Donna Ortmann on April 19, 1955, in Newton, Kansas. The couple had two children, Tim and David.

For 35 years Larson worked for the U.S, Postal service as a letter carrier.

Larson was best known for bowling in his early years and gardening.

Larson is survived by his son, David (Laurie) Woelk of Overland Park; daughter-in-law, Cindi Woelk of Newton; three grandchildren, Sarah Weekley, Janelle Haverty and Sam Woelk; and five great grandchildren, Eli and Olivia Weekley and Georgia, Ford and Patrick Haverty.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Donna Woelk; son, Tim Woelk; parents, Alvin and Linda Woelk; and siblings, Lamont, Leland, Loren, and Artis.

The service for Larson Woelk will be held on Saturday, April 6th, at 10:00a.m. at Petersen Funeral Home. Visitation will be the evening prior from 5:00p.m. - 8:00p.m..

Memorial donations can be made in Larson's name to American Legion Post #2 in Newton, Kansas.
