HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A City of Hutchinson employee, Dave Sotelo has been selected for a worldwide opportunity through his work with the United Way of Reno County.
"Dave is our Human Relations officer, but he's also on the United Way of Reno County board," said Interim City Manager Mary Grace Clements. "The United Way of Reno County announced that in 2023, Dave was chosen as one of the Young World Summit representatives. Five people in the world were chosen and Dave was one of them. He will represent the United Way of Reno County Hutchinson, Kansas, along with some people from Venezuela, Guyana, Florida and Hawaii."
The summit is to be held October 2 through 5 in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
The summit provides a unique opportunity for 2,000 exceptional young leaders from around the world to gather together and address some of our world’s most consequential challenges. Delegates will engage in five plenary challenges related to peace and reconciliation, the food crisis, education, the climate, and mental health.
