Sheriff: Woman dead, man and baby injured in Kansas fire

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Kan. —One person died in a fire in rural Franklin County, Kansas.

Just before 7:30p.m. Thursday, emergency personnel responded to a fire at 3722 US 59 Highay, according to the Franklin County, Kansas Sheriff.

Upon arrival they found the building to be fully engulfed. A female adult was located deceased inside the structure. An adult male and an infant suffered burns and were transported to KU Medical Center for treatment. Names are being withheld at this time, pending completion of the investigation.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, State Fire Marshals Office, and the ATF are investigating this incident.
