HARVEY COUNTY — One person died in an accident just after 4:30 p.m. Thursday in Harvey County.
A car driven by 29-year-old Cody Pfeifer of Hutchinson, was westbound at the intersection of Northwest 12th Street and North Sand Hill Road, according to the Sheriff's Department .
A southbound SUV struck the car at the intersection.
EMS transported Pfeifer to an area hospital in critical condition. He later died of his injuries.
The driver of the SUV was transported to an area hospital and treated for minor injuries. There were no passengers in either vehicle.
The Harvey County Sheriff’s Office’s preliminary investigation indicates Pfeifer failed to yield to traffic at the intersection.
The accident remains under investigation.
