Sheriff: Kan. woman wanted on warrants was transporting drugs

SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating a suspect on drug allegations.

Just before 11:30a.m. March 18, a sheriff's deputy conducted a traffic stop on a red 2004 Jeep near SW 6th Avenue and SW Harrison Street, according to Shawnee County Deputy Abigail Christian.

During the investigation, illegal narcotics were located. The driver, Karen M. Langston, 38, of Topeka, was arrested and booked into the Shawnee County Dept. of Corrections on requested charges of, Trafficking contraband into a correctional facility, Possession of an opiate, opium, narcotic or certain stimulant, Driving while license suspended; 3rd or subsequent conviction, Violating a traffic control device

Langston also had a suspended driver’s license and three misdemeanor warrants for her arrest.
