ELLSWORTH COUNTY—The body of a Great Bend man was found in Central Kansas.
The Ellsworth County Sheriff reported first Responders from the US Army Corp of Engineers, Game Wardens with the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks, Marquette, Ellsworth, and Kanopolis Fire Departments, Saline County Sheriff's Mounted Patrol and Rescue Squad, along with Ellsworth County Emergency Management, Sheriff's Deputies and numerous horseback mounted area Ranchers, assisted in the search for a 62 year old Great Bend man who was out scouting hunting grounds in Ellsworth County on walk-in hunting areas southwest of the City of Kanopolis, Kansas.
The man was deceased when he was found.
Cause of Death is undetermined, however, no foul play is suspected at this time. According to the sheriff's office this was an exhaustive search utilizing drones, tracking dogs, and electronic cellular tracking technology.
The Ellsworth County Coroner's Office, along with the Ellsworth County Sheriff's Office are in charge of this investigation.
The sheriff's office also thanked the Great Bend Police Department for assisting with the case. The man's name has not been released.
