
Judith C. Kreps, 80, of Omaha, NE, died February 19, 2023, at The Arbors at Waldron Place, Hutchinson. She was born January 15, 1943, in Omaha, NE, to Edward M. and Lenora R. (Bridgeford) Hill.
Judith was the Midwest Educational Coordinator at Eric Nelson News. She later convinced the owner to open bookstores, which she operated. Judith was an avid reader, especially romance and mystery. She favored the author, James Patterson. Judith was such a passionate reader that authors would send her manuscripts of their books. She was also a caring and loving grandmother. Judith enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She attended St. Phillip Neri-Blessed Sacrament Church in Omaha.
On September 19, 1980, she married Dwight Q. “Skip” Kreps, in Omaha. They shared over 33 years in marriage before his death November 30, 2013.
Judith is survived by: her son, Tony Swetson, Bennington; bonus daughters, Colleen (Robert) Fredrickson, and Tracy (Jeff) Dunham, both of Omaha; bonus son, Chris (Jennifer) Kreps, of Omaha; daughter in laws, Lisa Swetson, of Omaha, and Janet Swetson, of Owasso, OK; twenty-five grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and brothers, Robert D. LeClair Jr., of Farmington, MN, and Ricky D. LeClair, of Council Bluffs, IA.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; son, John Swetson; and brothers, Ed Hill and George Hill.
Funeral service and burial will be held at a later date in Nebraska.
