Eula Marie Henderson, 96, died June 21, 2024, at Sandstone Heights, Little River. She was born February 17, 1928, in Bronson, KS, to Floyd Arthur and Alice May (Bowles) Thomas.
Eula, along with her husband, Orville, founded Eula’s Draperies, in 1965. For over 50 years, Eula worked with hundreds of customers on their window treatments. She had a true gift for listening to her clients, ensuring their custom-made draperies were just what they had envisioned. In addition, Eula was active in the Arlington Community, serving on the City Council and as Mayor of Arlington during their 125th anniversary. She had numerous hobbies and interests from playing cards and going to casinos to dancing, traveling, and listening to country music and enjoying the NJCAA basketball tournament each March in Hutchinson. Eula was a member of the Arlington United Methodist Church, Arlington, KS.
On June 10, 1946, she married Orville Dayton Henderson, in Bronson, KS. He died October 18, 1991, after they shared over 45 years of marriage.
Eula is survived by: son, Dale Henderson (Debby) of Hutchinson; daughter, Melinda Klein (Kendel) of Mount Vernon, MO; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; son, Darrell Henderson; brother, Harvey Thomas; and sisters, Helen Wilson and Wanda Fouts; and granddaughter, Lelagi Klein,
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Arlington United Methodist Church, 117 S. Lincoln, Arlington, with Pastor Schar Cross and the Reverend Dennis Wallace officiating. Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at Bronson Cemetery, Bronson, KS. Friends may sign her book from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
