Earl “Wes” Adams, 85, formerly of Nickerson, died July 16, 2024, at Thorne Care Center, Hutchinson. He was born September 22, 1938, in Hutchinson, to Walter and Ruby (Cornwell) Adams.
Wes owned Adams Construction Company, until 1988, when he changed the name of his business to Wes Adams Construction. He also owned Nickerson Mini-Storage. Wes was an avid fisherman, enjoyed hunting, working day and night in his shop, and partaking in adult beverages with his children and employees. Above all, Wes treasured the time he spent with his family. He loved all his family unconditionally.
On November 11, 1967, he married Sharon Bishop, in Hutchinson.
Wes is survived by: his wife of almost 57 years, Sharon Adams of South Hutchinson; children, Treva Bussard (Garry) of Nickerson, Jamie Adams (Melissa) of Hutchinson, Kris Schutkesting (Ron) of Mountain Home, AR, Kim Hebenstreit of Kansas City, MO, Sherrie McAllister (Kyle) of Arvada, CO, and Darci Jones (Rob) of Nickerson; 20 grandchildren; over 32 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; sisters, Peggy and Frances; a brother, Robert; and a grandson, Timothy.
Celebration of Life service will begin at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Lake Talbot East, located on the Kansas State Fairgrounds, 2000 N. Poplar, Hutchinson. Food and beverages will be served. Friends may sign his book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
