Casey Ross Freeman, 35, of Wichita, KS passed away suddenly on 12/29/23 surrounded by loved ones.

Casey was born on January 20th, 1988 during a snowstorm in Colby, KS. His parents Brad Freeman and Michelle Freemen raised Casey and his brother Josh in Sedgwick, KS where he graduated in 2006. After graduation, Casey started training as an HVAC Technician at Roth Heating and Air. He would go on to get his Journeyman’s license in 2008 followed my his Master Mechanical license in 2021. For the last five years, Casey worked in the HVAC department at Wichita State University while also maintaining a part time position as an On-Call supervisor at Roth.

When he wasn’t working, Casey enjoyed building wildly outrageous decks for the card game, Magic: The Gathering. He also enjoyed playing on his laptop and discovering new restaurants with his wife.

Casey was a kind and gentle soul who was always ready to offer help to anyone in need whether it would be helping a stranger on the side of the road or helping friends and family with their AC.

Casey leaves behind 7 dogs that he thought of as children: Hedley, Zero, Aydin, Spike, Gowther, Lycan, and Mabel. He is survived by his wife McKenzie Loveall, parents, William “Brad” Freeman and Janie “Michelle” (Owens) Freeman, brother, Joshua Freeman, grandparents, Shirley Freeman, Ona Dyson, and Patrica Owens and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Casey is proceeded in death by grandfathers, Bill Freeman and Mike Owens.

If you feel inclined, flowers or donations can be sent to Petersen Family Funeral Services at 215 N. Main, Newton, KS 67114. Visitation will be held at Petersen’s from 5:00-9:00pm on January 4th, 2024. The funeral service will be held at 11:00am on January 5th, 2024 at First Christian Church of Sedgwick at 514 N Franklin Ave, Sedgwick, KS 67135 immediately followed by the burial at Hillside Cemetery in Sedgwick, KS and a reception at The Light House next to the church.
