HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The annual Remember Me Tree fundraiser continues in Hutchinson to benefit Hospice and Homecare of Reno County.
"We've been doing the fundraiser, I believe this year is our 37th year," said Tara Dahlstrom with Hospice. "It has evolved over time. Until COVID, we had volunteers that sat at the Dillons Marketplace. Since then, we've moved it all online, or stopping at our office in person. It's a great fundraiser. People love to support us year after year with that."
There has been a change with the ornaments.
"This year, we have a new partnership with Clayworks," Dahlstrom said. "The Clayworks artists are the ones that actually made our ornaments this year. Every ornament is individually hand made and unique on its own. We are really excited with that partnership. The ornaments this year are $50 and again we have a Willow Tree angel. This year, it is called Remembered. It's an angel with a metal flower that she's holding."
The price for the Willow Tree angel is $100.
"It's a great way to commemorize someone," Dahlstrom said. "Just to have a tradition year after year where you are able to honor them each year."
As of Friday, Dec. 15, the fundraiser was over $34,000 on their way to the $50,000 goal.
