HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Central Christian School will welcome former students, families and community members for its Alumni and Friends Weekend on Friday and Saturday.
The celebration begins at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, ahead of the Cougars’ football game against the Cunningham Wildcats. Activities will include inflatables, yard games and a fellowship meal catered by Knackies of Inman.
The meal will feature pulled pork, potato salad, baked beans, a roll and bottled water for $13 per plate. A free dessert will be provided by the school’s Parent Teacher Fellowship.
Central Christian will recognize its Alum of the Year and alumni from across the decades during halftime of the football game.
Activities continue Saturday, Sept. 19, in the Central Christian School parking lot. An Alumni and Friends Car Show and bake sale will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., with car-show registration beginning at 8 a.m.
An added attraction to the car show is the sale of a beautifully restored 1955 Thunderbird that will be offered for sale. The owner of the car says that if the car sells during the car show, half the proceeds of the $40,000 sale price will be donated to Central Christian School.
A chili feed is also scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
The weekend’s activities are open to alumni, families, friends and other members of the community.
