CRAWFORD COUNTY —One person died in an accident just before 3p.m. Monday in Crawford County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2015 Nissan Altima driven by Eric M. Myers, 38, Des Moines, Iowa, was eastbound on U.S. 400 four and one half miles west of Kansas 7.
The car crossed the center line and struck a westbound 2001 Dodge Dakota driven by Carol S. Sharp, 68, Altoona, head-on. After impact the pickup traveled off the road and rolled into the north ditch.
EMS transported Sharp to Mercy Hospital in Joplin where she was pronouned deceased and Myers to Mercy Hospital in Pittsburg. Both drivers were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
