
Loree Renee (Chadbourn) Nichols died unexpectedly from injuries sustained in a car accident on Friday, August 11, 2023 at the age of 67 in Wichita, Kansas.
Loree was survived by her husband Francis Lee Nichols for one week until he followed her in death due to his injuries sustained in the same car accident. She is survived by her sisters, Paula Fuoss (Jim) West Chicago, IL, Janelle Case (Ray), Manhattan, KS, Michelle Mundhenk (Kent), Granbury, TX, Beth Breen (Doug), Tucson, AZ, step-daughter Rhonda Lane, Sedgwick, KS, step-son Aaron Nichols, Sedgwick, KS and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Marlin Chadbourn, her parents Kenneth and Maxine Chadbourn, her grandparents and a niece, Alicia (Mundhenk) Zebutis as well as her step-son, Darren Nichols.
Loree was born on March 18, 1956 to Kenneth and Maxine Chadbourn in Arkansas City, Kansas. She graduated from Atchison High School in 1974 and from Calvary Bible College with a degree in Elementary Education in 1979. She married Francis Lee Nichols on July 3, 2003 in Sedgwick, Kansas.
Loree loved children and it was evident when it came to her nieces and nephews. She loved keeping up with them and supporting them the best she could as they grew. She also spent many years teaching children’s Sunday School. Loree was diagnosed early in life with diabetes and fought through many setbacks throughout her life but now lives pain free/diabetes free in heaven with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was passionate about music and loved picking out hymns and playing the organ for Sunday morning services at Pleasant Valley Church where she was the Music Director for the past several years. She also had recently begun a ministry in reaching out as an encourager to single females at Pleasant Valley.
A funeral for both Loree and Lee will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 25, at Pleasant Valley Church, 12002 W 109th Street, Sedgwick (Bentley), KS, three miles west of Ridge Road. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association www.diabetes.org/ways-to-give
