SEDGWICK COUNTY —All but one member of the Kansas Congressional delegation attended President Trumps midterm rally on Monday, Kansas U.S. Senator Jerry Moran did not attend.  Moran is not up for reelection this year and decided to travel as far from the rally.

On social media Tuesday, Moran wrote, "I’m in Alaska yesterday and today visiting Fort Greely, the Missile Defense Complex and meeting with servicemembers. As a senior defense appropriator, I’m here to learn more about our Defense Missile System and the Golden Dome."

"I will continue working to strengthen our missile defense and support opportunities for Kansas to play a role in advancing that mission."

Last week, Moran called on the Trump administration to reverse course on a plan to purchase diesel from Russia as part of an effort to lower high fuel prices.

On his social media page Moran wrote, "Sanctions on Russian fuel exports have, for the last several years, deprived funding for Putin’s unjust war in Ukraine and provided leverage to help end it. We should be tightening sanctions further, not undercutting them by allowing the import of Russian diesel and risking erasing our leverage, damaging our credibility with allies, and emboldening our adversaries."
