Curtis McColm, age 69, passed away at home on Tuesday, March 26, 2024. Curt was born on January 1, 1955, to William E. and Irene E. (Dean) McColm in Wichita, Kansas. He was a lifelong resident of Wichita and graduated from Heights High School. Curt worked several jobs in his career including as a foreman for Asplundh Tree Expert Company from 1975 to 1983. He retired from Kechi Township and Cemetery in 2013 after 25 years.
Curt spent many cherished hours in his younger years boating and fishing with his family. He was a collector of many things through the years including Honda Dream motorcycles, chain saws, car model kits and so much more. His passion for building model cars began as a young boy, and it was a hobby he enjoyed throughout his life. Curt was a true tinkerer and loved nothing more than brainstorming an idea for a customized project and bringing it to fruition.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Steve McColm.
Curt is survived by his wife, Nadine, and beloved fur family, Bud and Maxie. He is also survived by sisters-in-law Lori McColm, Arvada, CO, Laverne Taylor, Pratt, KS, and Colleen Couey, Hill City, KS; uncle Earl (Carleen) Dean; and cousins, Earlene Miracle, Chad Willis and Todd Willis, all of Wichita.
Graveside service will be at 2 pm, Friday, April 5, at Kechi Township Cemetery, 6523 N. Hillside, Wichita, Kansas.
