BURRTON, Kan. — Reno and Harvey county residents with agricultural lands impacted by Saturday’s Cottonwood Complex fire are invited to attend a town hall this Sunday, March 13, in Burrton to learn about the programs available for reimbursement and repair and discuss any concerns with the rebuilding process. Staff Senator Dr. Roger Marshall’s office as well as personnel from both NRCS and FSA will be on-hand to answer questions and assist landowners.
“Saturday’s fire destroyed thousands of acres of productive farm and pasture ground. That means farmers and ranchers are now left to pick up the pieces, begin the rebuilding process and determine the best path forward as we move into spring planting and grazing seasons,” Marshall said. “We have worked hard to improve the existing programs designed to help farmers and ranchers rebuild after natural disasters and want to ensure that all producers and landowners have access to all of the resources and assistance necessary as they look to rebuild.”
Anyone with agricultural lands impacted by the Cottonwood Complex fire is invited to attend.
