Catherine Elizabeth Stuart, 90, died August 1, 2024, just a few days shy of her 91st birthday, at Pleasant Hills, Hutchinson.  She was born August 4, 1933, in Lenapah, OK, to Willie Henry and Ruth Etta (Adams) Schultz.  

Catherine graduated from Lenapah High School, in 1951.  In 1993, she retired from the Reno County Education Co-Op, working as a paraprofessional for Union Valley Elementary School.  Catherine was a genuine and inspirational role model.   Once you met her, you felt like you had just made a new life-long friend.   All who were lucky enough to cross Catherine’s path felt her immediate unconditional love, especially with her “life’s secret”, LAUGHTER.  Catherine’s children and grandchildren were blessed with the greatest and sweetest mom.  Faith was important to Catherine and she was currently attending Calvary Chapel, Hutchinson.  

On April 17, 1955, she married Raymond Wesley Stuart, in Lenapah, OK.  He died March 16, 2021, after they shared almost 66 years of marriage. 

Catherine is survived by:  children, Cheryl Mascorro (Mike) of Hutchinson, Daryl Stuart (Tonia) of Windsor, CO, Melinda Pittman of Houston, TX, and Lisa Liebengood (Lonnie) of Bryan, TX; brother, Kenneth “Bud” Schultz (Bonnie) of South Coffeyville, OK; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; son-in-law, Mike Pittman; and a brother, Dale Schultz (Jane).

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at Elliott Chapel, with Pastor Luke Helmuth officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson.  Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, August 5, 2024, at Elliott Mortuary.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time Tuesday at Elliott Chapel.
